The Jackson County Genealogy Society offers four scholarships annually to area high school seniors who are students at one of Jackson County's four high schools. One through the Jim and Jean Scott Foundation, one through the Robert Larry Crawford Scholarship Fund, one through the William Loranzo Crawford Scholarship Fund, and one through the Lenoir Nicholson Stack Scholarship Fund.
Deadline to apply for all four scholarships has been extended to Friday, April 10, 2020. Students may apply electronically or on paper.
Email completed applications and essays to Scholarship Chairman Kenny Nicholson at firstname.lastname@example.org; or mail paper applications and essays to Jackson County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 480, Sylva, NC 28779. The Jackson County Library and the JCGS office are currently closed, so students should choose one of the above options to apply.
The Scholarship Committee reviews applications and selects applicants to be interviewed.
